How is the disability access?
From the outset, we have aimed and planned for CoCoCon to be one of the most inclusive and accessible conventions out there. We welcome attendees of all abilities and disabilities.
However, due to the age and layout of our beautiful venue (a 180 year old listed building!) we have unfortunately faced some challenges regarding accessibility. Although we are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that there is access to all areas of the hotel, we do recognise, and want to raise awareness ahead of time, that there may be some complications on the day. This is especially the case for attendees who require the use of larger mobility aids such as larger wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We are deeply sorry about this. We are continuing to work very hard alongside the hotel to try to mitigate this and aim to go above and beyond what the venue themselves offer.
Above all we want everyone to have the best experience, and the best convention they possibly can! Therefore we will have an on-site welfare team to assist anyone in need, and we would ask that any attendees with mobility issues make themselves known to our stewards to guide and help them throughout the day.
Do you have an anti-harassment policy?
We do not tolerate bullying or harassment. Coastal Comic Con operate a zero tolerance policy for harassment, bullying or inappropriate behaviour and it will result in immediate eviction from the site with no refund. Our full Anti-Harassment policy can be seen here.
Are there any restrictions on cosplay and props?
Our full cosplay rules and guidelines can be found here.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Royal Bath hotel is just a five minute walk from the central bus exchange in Bournemouth Town Centre, and a fifteen minute walk from Bournemouth Railway Station. There are several large pay-and-display car parks in the town centre, including the Bath Road car park next door to the hotel itself.
