Coastal Comic Con will be holding a number of talks and demonstrations for attendees during the event.

The majority of these will be free to attend and you will be able to hear a number of our guests and experts on a whole realm of pop culture subjects, talk about past and upcoming projects and get some in-depth knowledge from our cosplay guests!

Although the majority of these talks and demonstrations are free, spaces are limited and will be issued on a first come first served basis.

Manga Workshop with Sonia Leong

We’re very pleased to announce that we will be offering a Manga art workshop with our special guest Sonia Leong at the event.

Sonia is a professional comic artist and illustrator specialising in Anime/Manga and we are delighted that she will be leading a workshop at Coastal Comic Con. With Sonia sharing her years of experience working in the industry, if you are a budding artist, make sure to come along and get some tips from the best!

Spaces will be limited and a charge of £2 will be required to cover costs of materials.

The Manga Workshop will be limited to ages 10 and up.

Foam Workshop with Matman Studios

We’re delighted that Matman Studios will be running Foam Workshops for all would-be prop builders and armour makers at the event!

Matman describes himself as a “Propmaker, cosplayer, foamsmith, 3D modeller, jack of all trades, master of… soon to be decided.”

Due to the equipment used, the Foam Workshop will be limited to ages 14 and up.


Locksmith FX

Locksmith FX is thrilled to be attending and supporting Coastal Comic Con.

Locksmith FX is the key to unlocking your imagination. Using a mix of FX and prosthetic makeup we can turn you into anything from the undead to a Supervillain.

Locksmith FX will be at the event zombifying attendees for free – (However, donations are encouraged to cover costs.) If you would like your makeup done please wear inexpensive clothing that you don’t mind getting stains on or non-porous cosplay that the latex will not adhere to.



Dorset Scrapstore

We’re delighted that Dorset Scrapstore will be at Coastal Comic Con running a series of  mini workshops and cosplay challenges for attendees.

They say, “At Dorset Scrapstore we love the  unique and wonderful. Our charity shop is full of an ever-changing  range of fabric, plastics, paper and cardboard that has been donated by individuals and businesses. Pop in and see us in Alderhills and give us a like on Facebook to see examples of our current stock. We also love helping people craft and run a wide range of community events.”

TAMERA: The Saga Begins

Get in on the ground floor with TAMERA. A new animated show, currently in development. Come meet members of the cast & writing team as they discuss how this project came to be and what their next steps are going forward.


Hugo Myatt

Hugo is a familiar face to generations for his role as Treguard the Dungeon Master and presenter of the cult ITV children’s show Knightmare. As Treguard he was hugely influential to an entire generation, encouraging many to follow their dreams into careers in gaming, fantasy fiction and much more.

Coastal Comic Con will be hosting an exclusive Q&A session with Hugo as he talks about his career on Knightmare and beyond. Come prepped if you have a question you’d like to ask!


Kit Buss

We’re delighted that superstar artist Kit Buss will be joining us for a special Q&A session at Coastal Comic Con.

Best known as the official artist and character designer for the Vox Machina campaign of hit D&D streaming show Critical Role, Kit is a professional illustrator and comic artist with over ten years’ experience in the industry.

So, if you have any questions about Critical Role and its influence, want to talk High Rollers or D&D or quiz Kit about her latest project, the fantastic Cloven get them prepped now!


Clem So

With experience working on many recent blockbusters, Clem So will be talking about his career so far with our hosts at an exclusive panel.

If you’d like to quiz Clem about how he got started in the industry or what it’s like to be on-set with some of the world’s most famous movie stars, here’s your chance!


Ian D. Sharman

Ian is the award winning writer of Alpha Gods, Hero: 9 to 5, Hypergirl, The Intergalactic Adventures of Zakk Ridley, The Lady & The Lost World and also Editor In Chief of Markosia, one of the leading independent publishers of graphic novels in the UK.

Ian will be talking about his time as an independent creator and the UK comics industry and may even share a few hints as to how you can get started in the industry!


Christopher Ryan

With Christopher Ryan joining us, we’re able to quiz him about his career in the Mirabelle Suite. Christopher Ryan will be a familiar face to any fan of British comedy and sci-fi and his long career as a stage actor.
